Peaceful interior of Dao Reuang guesthouse

Our Story

A guesthouse that grew from knowing how travel feels

How Dao Reuang came to be

Dao Reuang — morning star in Thai — opened its doors in 2009 on a quiet stretch of Sukhumvit Road in Ban Chang, Rayong. The property was founded by the Siriwan family, who had spent years watching travellers arrive at the nearby terminal with nowhere comfortable to rest during long stops between flights.

The idea was simple: a small, calm guesthouse that operated on the traveller's schedule rather than its own. Rooms sized for one or two people, a shared lounge for companions, and a team available at any hour. No large lobby, no impersonal check-in queue — just a desk, a warm cup of tea, and someone who would listen to your flight details and make things work.

Over the years the property has welcomed guests from across Southeast Asia, Europe and beyond — solo business travellers, families mid-journey and couples on their way somewhere new. The approach has remained the same throughout: small enough to feel personal, experienced enough to handle the unexpected.

Founded in 2009

More than fifteen years of welcoming layover travellers at U-Tapao, with the same family ownership from the beginning.

Our Mission

To give every traveller a genuine rest — not just a bed for the night, but a pause that makes the next leg of the journey feel manageable.

Our Values

Honesty about what we offer, patience with tired guests, and a belief that quiet hospitality leaves a stronger impression than anything louder.

The People Behind the Property

A small team with long experience in hospitality and local travel.

Standards We Keep

Hospitality certification is only part of the picture. The habits that matter most are quieter than any award.

TAT-Registered Property

Dao Reuang is registered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, meeting all national standards for accommodation safety and service quality.

Daily Housekeeping Protocol

All rooms are fully turned over between each stay. Bedding, towels, bathroom surfaces and high-touch points follow a written housekeeping checklist reviewed each week.

Guest Data Privacy

Booking details and personal data are handled under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. Information is used only for your stay and is not shared with third parties.

Fire Safety Compliance

Smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and clearly marked exits are maintained throughout the property and inspected in line with local authority requirements.

24-Hour Staffing

At least one team member is on-site and awake at all times — for late check-ins, early departures or anything that comes up in the middle of the night.

Responsible Practice

We separate waste, use refillable amenities and source breakfast ingredients from local suppliers in Rayong. Small steps, taken consistently over many years.

A guesthouse shaped by the rhythm of the airport

U-Tapao International Airport serves Rayong, Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard — a region with growing air traffic connecting Thailand to destinations across Asia. Many travellers pass through on connecting routes, technical stops or charter flights, arriving at hours when most hotels are unwilling or unable to accommodate a short stay.

Dao Reuang was designed with these guests in mind. The property sits minutes from the terminal, maintains a desk around the clock and offers room options that match a transit window — from a few hours of daytime rest to a full 24-hour suite for families mid-journey. Flexible check-in, a complimentary shuttle on a relaxed timetable and a team that watches departure boards so guests do not have to.

The neighbourhood around Ban Chang is calm — a coastal district of Rayong with local markets, seafood restaurants and the Gulf of Thailand within easy reach. For guests with a long connection and the energy to step outside, the area offers a brief taste of provincial Thailand away from the resort crowds of Pattaya.
